How joining Liminal Temple works

To maintain a safe and focused environment, the server is role-based and utilizes an application gate. Most new visitors start with limited access and request additional roles as needed.

Step 1: Apply to join

Please submit a short join request so we can keep spam out and protect member privacy.

Step 2: Read the rules

Confidentiality and consent are foundational here. You’ll be asked to agree before participating.

Step 3: Request a Role

After joining, post in #help-desk-and-access to request Member, CMSG, or Core Circle access.

Roles & access levels

Roles are not “ranks” or gamification.
They’re privacy and access containers that keep the right conversations in the right rooms.

Roles:	Visitor	Member	CMSG Member (Chaos Magic Study Group)	Core Circle (invite/discretion)
Best for:	New arrivals who want to look around and ask questions.	General community discussion and connection.	Structured study, practice logs, reading circles, and course-style threads.	Deeper practice + governance container with higher confidentiality expectations.
Access:	Read-only orientation + resources; can post only in #help-desk-and-access.	#commons, #off-topic, plus general public community spaces.	The CMSG category (forums + study rooms).	Core Circle spaces and the CMSG category (Core Circle includes CMSG access).
How to get it:	Granted automatically when you join.	Request Member in #help-desk-and-access after joining.	Request CMSG Member in #help-desk-and-access. If membership verification is needed, it happens privately via DM.	By invitation or by request, after sustained participation and assurance of good fit.
